Patricia Darnell Bringhurst, 76, passed away on May 17, 2017, in her home in the arms of her loving husband of 56 years.
She was born April 5, 1941, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Eldred Carl & Winona Ruth Jenkins Jones. She was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time & all eternity to Jon LeRoy Bringhurst on February 13, 1961. Her greatest calling was that of being a wife and mother. She was able to continue her schooling and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education & Home Economics from the University of Utah while still lovingly taking care of three small children. After completing her degree, she chose to be a homemaker and extend her family.
Pat was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various ward & stake capacities, including serving a mission with her loving husband. She was very involved in her children's scholastic activities, and had a love for music and reading. She instilled these traits in her eight children through many years of piano lessons and by providing classic literature at their fingertips. She was her children's #1 fan, serving as their advocate. Her children always knew she loved them unconditionally. Pat was a self-taught artist and enjoyed painting, reading, gardening, sewing, and was a fabulous cook.
Pat is survived by her husband, Jon, her children Kamn (Jeff) Robertson, Konne (Owen) Shirley, Shane (Shalisa), Heath (Chris), Kourtne (Ken) Coleman, Brandon (Rachel), Jared (Jami), Kristi (Brian) Hastings and a plethora of grandchildren (31), and a sprinkling of great grandchildren (11).
She had an intense love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family adored her and she was the heart of the home. She had a deep love for the Savior Jesus Christ, and had a strong testimony of the power of prayer. She could often be found praying for her family. We are so grateful and blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be sorely missed, but we find comfort in the knowledge that families are forever and we will be together again. We love you!
