Calvin Dwain Hall, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, November 26, 2016, in West Valley City. He was born on December 20, 1936 in Vernal, Utah to Lynn Stringham and Eula Massey Hall. He graduated from Uintah High School and attended BYU for one year.
He married the love of his life, Joan Amelia Allen, on November 30, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple and was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, surveying for the Flaming Gorge Dam....

Calvin Dwain Hall, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, November 26, 2016, in West Valley City. He was born on December 20, 1936 in Vernal, Utah to Lynn Stringham and Eula Massey Hall. He graduated from Uintah High School and attended BYU for one year.
He married the love of his life, Joan Amelia Allen, on November 30, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple and was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, surveying for the Flaming Gorge Dam. He later attended Utah Technical College where he studied carpentry, and graduated top in his class. He was admired for his work ethic and fine workmanship throughout his career.
Dwain's great loves were his wife Joan, his children and grandchildren, nature, and bow hunting. He loved spending time in the mountains, taking pictures of flowers and wildlife and spending time with his family. He was an avid archer, and was a bow hunting legend among his family and friends.
He battled Parkinson's disease for 26 years until it finally took his life. He had a kind and generous heart, always looking for the good in everyone. Dwain also loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and made it the focus of his life. He served in many callings. He loved being Scoutmaster, a calling he had many times. He loved teaching them archery, outdoor skills, and an appreciation for God's creations. He was deeply loved and admired by his entire family and many others. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Amelia Allen, children: David (Doryanne) Hall, Calene (Brian) Pearson, Darren (Cheryl) Hall, Todd (Amy) Hall, Kevin (Cindy) Hall, and Roberta (Sam) Ferrin. Siblings: Myke Hall, Linda (Fred) Riding, Rita Johnson, Susan (Danny) Atwood, Shanna (Doug) Case, and Clark (Candice) Hall; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, little sister Sharon, infant son Logan Barrett Hall, and infant grandson Joshua Logan Hall .
A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Another viewing will be held Saturday morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Hillsdale Park LDS Church Building, 3274 South Hillsdale Drive (2860 West), West Valley City, Utah. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Valley View Memorial Park.
